One of the most renowned authors of our country. R.K Narayan is known for his authentic stories and beautiful way of storytelling. One of my favorite authors of all time. His clear vision and simple sense of writing style make him people’s favorite.
The first time I had read his book was when I was in college. I was 18 back then, It was so good to understand and explore one of the best authors of the country. You need to read more of India, its uniqueness, getting close to the land, the countryside and know the earth, soil and all its beauty. Then his novels are going to take you there.
Most of his stories are set in a very dreamy place, a countryside in south India, which is Malgudi. Malgudi days are another collection of short stories which is known by a lot of people and has a name all over the globe. Malgudi is a very pretty place. It has a lot of beautiful lakes, gardens, parks, and good landmarks that make it special.
My favorite novel is the Bachelor of Arts by R.K Narayan. It is a simple and long story of a college student. His thoughts, life and all the things revolving around him. It has a good story and you will find it extremely soothing to read.
The best part about Narayan novels is, they are very simple and easy to comprehend by anybody or everybody. These novels have a lot of stories that can be so relatable to maybe us or even a few of us. Simple stories about simple people in India or South India.
There are still a lot of books of his in my collections and honestly, my favorite author of all time. You want to have a good feeling out of a book, read his novels. He was the first Indian English writer to gain popularity in the west and make the country proud with his unique pieces of art and literature.
A writer who has known for his books and his qualified way of storytelling, R.K Narayan is a precious gem for our Country. To make your holidays more lively and whole I would recommend you to start with his simple short stories. These books also have the power to bring certain belongingness to the cultures and harmony of our Country. This writer has a greater role in bringing all these cultures into the eyes and ears of western people.
